Race Day Information-Read Carefully!!!

It's Race Time!!! 5 days and counting.......Please read carefully all the way through this post. It's a lot of information at once. If you have any questions please let one of us know.

Shirts

The shirts are finally in!!! If you have not already received your shirt and you're a member of the team, we hope to get them to you this week. If not, we'll have the remainder Saturday morning at the race. Please wear your shirt on race day! Mike is going to deliver shirts starting today to the DeBerry's/Davis' (staying with Phil and Nancy), Coates, Schaens, and Central's church members. I've already taken care of the BB&T group and I'll deliver another round to the Phil and Tony's group on Wednesday (you know who you are). For everyone else, please let me know when you want to pick up your shirt, or just get it on race day.

Well Wishes

PLEASE remember to leave your well wishes to Harold (HK) in the comments section of any post. We'd like to present them to him on race day and have received NONE!!!!

Parking

Unfortunately the Komen organization has not posted any parking information on their website. For those of you that are not familiar with downtown Charlotte you can check out http://www.charlottecentercity.org. Go to "Getting Around", then "Maps", then "Click here" for a parking map. The event is being held at Gateway Village. There is a parking deck there, but I don't know what streets will be blocked off for the race. Remember to bring cash on race day, since several parking decks do not accept any other type of payment...$20 should be more than enough.

Race Day Times/Meeting Place

6:30 Registration (for those who have not received their packets)
Chip pick-up for competitive runners-Remember to return your chip at the end of the
race or you will be charged!!!

7:00 Team Meeting Time-Please be outside the Starbucks @ 800 W. Trade St. #140 no later than 7:00. We plan to surprise Harold (HK) @ this time.

7:30 Competitive Run

8:00 Non-competitive run

8:45 One mile fun walk-you can start earlier if you want to. They should have signs up telling you where you need to go along the route (this has been the procedure in previous
years).

Remember to check out the expo also while you're there. They usually have lots of free goodies for the race participants. Remember to support the sponsors that help make this race possible!!

Gathering/Visit with Harold (HK) after race

After the race, there will be a drop-in gathering at Ann and Harold's house. Please feel free to stop in and visit with Harold. We will be providing lunch also. If you plan to attend please let Mike or I know asap.
