It's T-Shirt Time!!!

We need your help!!

We are trying our best to provide team shirts again this year. This is where all of you come in.

Get your creative juices flowing. The front of the t-shirt is pretty much nailed down, but we're looking for a funny slogan and/or artwork for the back of the shirt.

Keep in mind that we plan for the shirts to be either Royal blue or navy and that the more colors we have....the more expensive the shirts will be.

And remember, this is an event for all ages......so keep it clean.

For those of you that might not know Harold (HK) well, he was a math teacher, tennis coach, wrestling coach, and is very involved in his church and with his family. I thought these may be some idea starters.

DRUMROLL PLEASE........
As of today we have reached 76% of our fundraising goal thanks to a very generous donation we received today.

Our newest team members are:
Dianne F
Mary H

And our very supportive donors are:
Vicki H
Randy H
Barrie W
And another $100 raised by the team!!!

Thanks again to everyone for your help. We can't wait to read your shirt suggestions in the comments section!!!

Who is Harold (HK) Davis?

One day last week I asked Harold to give me a short bio to post on here. So here it is for all of you that are not lucky enough to know Harold. And to those of you that do, you might just learn something new....I did.

After high school, Harold went to NCSU in Aerospace Engineering, upon reaching courses in thermodynamics, he changed majors to Mathematics & Science Education. Grades immediately improved to the point that in 1967, Harold graduated as "The Most Outstanding Math-Science Student in 1967".

Harold went to Harding High School to teach all advanced math classes. He also coached football for four years, wrestling for twenty-one years, tennis for twenty-two years, and was Harding's athletic director from 1984 - 1988. During has 22 years at Harding he was "Teacher of the Year " in 1972, and wrestling coach of the year in 1972. Harding had one state championship in baseball in 1988, during his administration.

At this time he was hired to be the new athletic director at the new Providence High School to open in 1989 - 1990 school year. At Providence for eight years before retiring, Harold was "Athletic Director of the Year in CMS" in 1992 & 1994. He was The Charlotte Observer's "Athletic Director of the Year" in 1996, and in 1997 he was the "N.C.State High School Athletic Director of the Year for Region 6". At Providence during his administration the school had eleven state championships, seven local "Wachovia Awards" and three state "Wachovia Cup Awards.

Upon retiring in 1997, Harold started building turn key homes with his construction partners, Dan and Dick Henderson. Over the next ten years the company built 17 houses, and in May of 2006 Harold found the lump in his right breast. He has since retired to fight the cancer full time at age 62.
